Advanced FibroScan & Liver Health Assessments
A FibroScan measures liver stiffness and fat content from outside the body, much like an ultrasound, so there is no biopsy. Hill Country Primary Care does the scan at its New Braunfels office. It takes a few minutes, and the results come back soon after.

FAQ
We've answered some of the questions we hear most often to help you better understand our services and what to expect.
What is a FibroScan?
A FibroScan is a non-invasive imaging test that measures liver stiffness and fat content, helping detect early signs of fatty liver disease or liver damage without the need for a biopsy.
Is the test painful or invasive?
No. FibroScan is a painless, non-invasive test performed externally, similar to an ultrasound.
Who should get a liver health screening?
Patients with risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a history of elevated liver enzymes may benefit from a liver health screening. Your provider can help determine if this test is right for you.
How long does the test take?
The FibroScan procedure typically takes just a few minutes and results are often available shortly after the test.
